2010 Halloween Summary

Halloween is over and I was able to tear down almost the whole yard in about 1.5 hours and it took me several weekends to set everything up. Everybody loved my new Saw character shown below. However, this year the teenagers pissed me off because they were jumping over the fence and climbing over my lights in my yards so they could take pictures with my dummies. Next year, I 'm going to have to build a Halloween fence to make it harder for them to get into my yard. I don't understand why teenagers can not respect other people's things. Next year I'm going to have to fix the Saw dummy because someone leaned on his head and he was falling apart when I was putting him away.

Halloween Day

This is the first Halloween when I'm not even excited about Halloween. I guess it is because my back/leg has been hurting for months and my sinuses are now bothering me. I guess if I felt better, I would be happy/excited about today.

Halloween Decorations are all up

Last year's Halloween Decorations have all been put out.

I won't be able to do hardly any new projects this year due to my back pain. I'm so bummed.

Haunted House Died

I found out when I unpacked my Gemmy Haunted House that it was dead. The fan just wouldn't start. I looked on Gemmy's website and they do not sell replacement fans, so I gave it away on Craigslist. Hopefully someone can fix it and use it for there kids, I know my nieces/nephews loved it.

Setting up part of the Halloween decorations today

I put out the gravestones, mausoleum, and coffin today. I’m planning on putting the dummies out next weekend and maybe making a cemetery fence next weekend depending on how my back is feeling.

Starting to hang the Halloween decorations

The ghoul was hung out of the garage window today. This will be the last year I can use the ghoul because the squirrels have been making nests out of him.

2009 Halloween Summary

This year I added lights to my house and yard and had them timed to music, the kids just loved it. I redid all of my gravestones; carved all of the epitaphs by hand using a hot knife and then I created a base for each of the gravestones. I built a crypt out of 2"x2" and insulation foam board. It took a few months to finish this project, so if you are planning on making one of these, make sure you plan enough time because it toke a few months to complete (instructions are in my 10/4/2009 blog). I created a lamppost out of an old fan base and a black pumpkin from Wal-mart. Now I just need to figure out a way to keep it from not falling over every time there is strong wind. I also created a Beatlejuice character a few days before Halloween, but I didn't have time to finish making his hands, so that will be a project for next year.

My house is becoming more popular every year. The only problem is within the next two years, I'm planning on moving, so they will have to travel to see my Halloween Display.
